Refinery measurement points span columns, reactors, tanks and pipe racks, with widely varying conditions and high safety requirements. Radar level meters on column levels, electromagnetic or vortex meters on feed and side-draw flow, sheathed RTDs with integrated transmitters on temperature.
Tank farms use magnetostrictive gauges for simultaneous level and interface measurement. Hazardous-area instruments require intrinsic safety or flameproof certification. Wetted materials follow media corrosivity — 316L, Hastelloy or tantalum.
